A friend sent me this very nice Seiko Tuna dive watch because two of the shroud screws where seized in the case and the heads had become rounded when attempts to undo them had failed :(

The fact that this was a black coated model made the process somewhat more difficult because I needed to protect the finish and it being a mono block case there was very little to hold onto for machining.

I decided to make a back plate for my four jaw chuck and fit it to my rotary table and drill and tap two 6mm holes in the chuck face so that I could clamp over the watch to secure it in place.

I taped up the back of the case and lug recess and mounted it as seen in the photo's.
Located the hole positions, drilled and then used the extractor and luckily all the planning went well and after a few nervous moments and both screws removed, a BIG sigh of relief and no damage or marks to the case.
